Jon has just posted a new entry entitled "Star Search Casting Member Spotlight: Harvey Silver" in blog "Jonathan Parker's Talent Blog".
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Each month we get tons of emails from Star Search Casting members who have used our website to launch careers in the entertainment industry. We love reading their success stories because it makes all of our hard work even more worthwhile. Star Search Casting members from all over the world are landing life-changing roles, getting signed to prominent talent agencies, taking the fashion capitals by storm and connecting with some of the industry's most prominent casting directors, agents, producers and other entertainment industry executives.
In addition to reading success stories, one of my favorite things to do is to highlight Star Search Casting members that are making their mark on the industry. I always find their stories to be inspirational and I hope that you'll be inspired and motivated by their journey as well.
Harvey Silver is a Star Search Casting member who has appeared in nearly 30 films and television shows. You may have seen him on episodes of popular shows such as Beverly Hills, 90210, Sister, Sister, NYPD Blue and The Shield. Additionally due to his record success, he's also appeared on Access Hollywood, Extra and Entertainment Tonight and been featured in The Hollywood Reporter and the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Harvey took acting classes as a teen in Philadelphia where he was born and raised and it wasn't long before he fell in love with the stage. He later attended New York University's prestigious Tisch School of the Arts where he continued to study acting. After NYU, he moved to Los Angeles and began working almost immediately. He made his television debut in a Coca-Cola commercial directed by John Singleton. In addition to his film and television roles, he also landed several theater roles including the lead in American Medea at the Mark Taper Forum.
Harvey often utilizes method acting, a technique in which actors try to replicate real life emotional conditions under which their characters operate – a practice advanced by the Less Strasburg Theater Institute, where Harvey also attended.
Harvey Silver's story is a great example of the level of success you can achieve in the entertainment industry if you apply yourself. We'd like to congratulate Harvey on all of his success and wish him the best in his future endeavors.
