The Jewish Theater of New York is seeking to recast the role of Josef
in their long running critically acclaimed play, The Last Jew in
Europe, presented at The Triad theater on W. 72.

There are two performances per week

The play is a black comedy revolving around anti-semitism in
contemporary Ludz, Poland.

Josef is in his 20's, slender, not necessarily good looking, but can
be. He is affianced to Maria. The actor should be able to do a
credible Polish accent or learn one. He should also be a quick study

If interested, you are invited to see the show either Wednesday March
5 or Sunday March 9.

Last Jew in Europe was the US entry at the the World Cup 2006's
'intellectual track' by the prestigious Mülheim Stücke Festival in Germany

Seeking Actors for Native American themed play
Casting Workshops
For Stone Soup's new play The Ghost Dancers by Adam Hunault
Saturday, March 8, 1:30-4:30pm in Brooklyn
Sunday, March 9, 11am-2pm in Manhattan

Please join Stone Soup Theatre Arts for workshops to cast our upcoming production of The Ghost Dancers, premiering in May 2008. We are looking for a spirited and committed ensemble for this process, with a highly collaborative sensibility. We are seeking male actors, and both male and female dancers. We are especially seeking Native American performers, those with interest in Native American history and culture, and performers with experience in dance and movement.

Participants should come prepared for group exercises, individual work with existing text, and improvisations in order to become familiar with the style of the play. Additionally, participants will work with the choreographer on the movement style of the piece.

This is a great opportunity for public exposure, collaboration with other artists, and expansion of creative vocabulary. Rehearsals will be nights and weekend beginning in mid-March. Performances are at the Sanford Meisner Theater in NYC from May 8-24, Thursdays and Fridays at 8pm and Saturdays at 2pm and 8pm.

Email Nadine Friedman, Artistic Director, nadine@stonesoupkitchen.org, to RSVP for the casting workshop at nadine@stonesoupkitchen.org. Please include your headshot and resume and which day you plan to attend. You will receive a confirmation email with the exact location of the workshop.

NEW MUSICAL WORKSHOP
For the audition: Two short contrasting pieces, roughly 16 bars each. Please provide your own sheet music, in the right key. No acapella.

The Casebook Project is a workshop of a new musical by Joseph and David Zellnik, who wrote the recent hit musical, 'Yank!' Their new show, 'The Casebook of Rudolf H-' revolves around Crown Prince Rudolf of Vienna, who committed a double suicide with his mistress, Mary. The show's protagonist is a young Sigmund Freud who, increasingly obsessed by the Prince, attempts to piece together the tragedy of his life. The musical is a work in progress, and this workshop process aims to explore and define the narrative and structure of the show. We are looking for nine strong singer/actors to rehearse the musical at New York Theatre Workshop in April/May and present two public performances in early June.

Hey ActorsFirstNY!

I wanted to give everyone a chance to book a headshot session
before my rates go up for Spring/Summer, as that's the busy season
for me.

Currently, I have two rate options. $150 for 1 hr, $250 for 2 hr.

With a 1hr shoot, you'll get:
- Approx. 80-120 shots
- 2-3 looks
- 1 retouched photo, and
- CD of all images immediately after the shoot.

A 2hr shoot is mainly for modeling portfolios, but if you want 4-6
looks,
150-300 shots, and 2 retouched pics, then 2 hours is the way to go.

Also, my Buddy Special of $250 for 2 people who book and shoot
consecutively on the same day will expire at the end of March.

I'm available to shoot on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays
anytime,
plus 7pm indoor sessions Tues-Thurs.

You can check the calendar on my site or email me directly at
info@chrispics.com
to book or ask any questions you may have.

Hope everyone is having a great start to the year and looking forward
to meeting
some of you at the AFNY Anniversary Party on the 30th!

Because we were asked & for the fun of it ...
www.AffordableActingClasses.com presents Impromptu Improv this Saturday

A great 3 hour, high energy improv class for only $22 dollars ... that's right only $22
Saturday, March 8th at 1pm (until 4pm) @ The Producers Club Theater - 358 W. 44th St

- Have you always wondered if there's an art to making something up?
- Do you think you can do it but never had the confidence to try?
- Are you someone who's afraid of scripts but has great ideas?
- Do you crack people up at parties but don't know how to do it on stage?
- If so, this is the one-day intensive for you!
- Jump in and get your feet wet! (we will have towels to dry you off)

This one day intensive will discuss Improv, play Improv games & loosen you up to become a better "actor" with ... err ... IMPROV!

This class is taught by my assistant Joyce Storey who many of you know from assisting my highly successful On-Camera Audition Workshops

This will be fun, crazy, insane, goofy, productive & most of alll ... AFFORDABLE

This is not on the website & only offered to the crazed members of AFNY so contact - AffordableActingClasses@gmail.com ASAP to register!

About Miss Storey:
Learn from Joyce Storey, the only actress, as far as she knows, who's
played Bella The Ball, Cindy Rella, Tiffany-the-Compulsive-Shopper,
and the Sister Maria Theresa Juanita Teresita Santucci all in the same
lifetime! Her BA and a BEd from Acadia University, Producer's Diploma
from the Hollywood Film Institute and Director's Diploma from the
Digital Film Academy NY are just the tip of the iceberg. This girl's
got moxie! She studied improvisation with Brian Nazimok from Toronto's
Second City and had a blast! She's taught improv for almost a decade
and had a bigger blast! She's performed improvisational comedy for
twenty years throughout Canada and the US (of course she started in
the womb she can't possibly be that old!) In New York she's performed
with improv troupes Atticus and Klaatu as well as Mostly Murder (Don't
ask how many times she's died!). She is an award-winning writer and
filmmaker and founder/producer of Storeyline Productions, Inc. She has
worked extensively in New York theatre including her role as Det.
Garbenski in the Off-Broadway production of Corner Wars, which won the
Oppenheimer Award for Best Play. She's done numerous indie films,
industrials and commercials. TV credits include: Guiding Light, As the
World Turns, Law and Order SVU and Sex and the City. She currently has
a recurring role as an ICU Nurse on One Life to Live and is cited in
the Who's Who of American Women. And she's just plain fun to be with!
