Casting for "older" (60+) voice actor in Seattle, WA.

Hello all,
I am an emerging Artist in Seattle. I need voice talent to perform a
monologue for a recording that is integral in my next work of art. I
am looking for an older actor with a "weathered" sounding voice. I
imagine an older man, but older women are welcome to audition. I may
hear what I want in either gender. I need an authentic voice, not an
impersonation. As talented as you might be there is nothing quite like
the excellent granularity of a voice that has been speaking for six
plus decades. Of course the age range is not strict. You may have
shouted at the sea for so long that by 40 you have the voice I am
looking for. A certain roughness, a weariness, a sound like wisdom
incarnate. I know this is all very vague. How can I express in words
what I hear in my mind. So if you think you may have what I am looking
for, then PLEASE audition.

You can find project documentation here: http://nestofdemons.com/thesis/tc.html

The casting process is simple and done over voicemail. We don't need
to meet in person for me to evaluate voice quality. I encourage all
people and all nationalities to apply. The compensation is $300 and
recognition as a contributor to the Artwork.

To audition simply call 309-412-7096 and read the following excerpt
(or anything else you feel best shows your talent). I am looking for
someone who compels me to believe the character is real. Imagine this
is an intensely personal record of your own life. Imagine that this is
meant for your children to find in the future after you are gone. I am
not looking for a book on tape sound. It must be something less laden
with the expectation of an audience. Somehow less produced and
intensely human.

EXCERPT:
"I had a visitor. A good friend. An old Haitian man. After driving
wild and mad on dirt roads in my dusty old car just to prove it could
still thrill despite its age, we sat lost and confused on my couch in
a house I rent. Dirty brown couch in a room covered in dingy brown
wood paneling. He didn't want food or beer and my efforts to please
now left him suspicious and wanting solitude. Before parting we
expressed our genuine, mutual and deep restlessness and boredom.
Looking carefully into each others eyes and knowing that last moment
why we loved each other so much. I left him siting on the couch and
walked through the front room to the front porch, forgetting the beer.
In a daze from the confusion of my friend."

Also, you should leave your name and contact info on the voicemail as
well as email them to me along with any acting credentials you might
have. Remember though: I am judging based on the performance alone.
Multiple auditions are acceptable and I will consider the best from
each applicant.

The script is still in a draft form and the production deadline is in
early June. I will need to record a solid monologue before that for
some of the component testing processes. But this isn't a quick cash
situation. It is actually a collaboration. I will likely need to hear
a couple full performances of the script before we record it. The
final piece is an artwork and the voice is everything in the piece. It
is the single most important component, so we will not be rushing
through it. I have written a grant for funding and if it comes through
I may be able to offer more money for more involvement. Of course we
can negotiate all this up front. I do not expect an open-ended
commitment from you.

Thank you and good luck!

The Recap:

Me: Local Seattle Artist.
You: Actor with an exceptionally wonderful voice (by my judgement).
