Lead role: Male at least 6 feet tall, fit but not muscular between 27 and 35 years of age; any ethnicity. No thick accents. Must project and enunciate well. Also, would appreciate actors with stunt experience as there is a brief fight scene that could use someone that can hold their own!

Moppet Rocks! is the story of two musically-challenged bffs and band-mates trying to claim their fair share of fame in this terrible, unfair world. When tensions grow to intolerable heights, the two-person band splits up just before their potentially career-making debut at the local Battle of the Bands. How will these two make it... without each other? It's Welcome to the Dollhouse meets Juno with twenty-somethings. Add a smidge of Election's bitterness to that cupcake recipe, and you have yourself a tangy, twisted Moppetcake.

NO PAY BUT FOOD AND COPY OF FILM PROVIDED

CASTING:
MOPPET RHODES (20s), Caucasian; quirky hipster wannabe; mousy misanthrope whose vengeful edge stems from deep insecurity.
RISA WALKER (20)s, Caucasian or African American; laid back follower; weird, hippyish hipster wannabe, who wants to participate in the ambitions of others but lacks any take-charge instinct.
HOT SHOT (early-mid 30s), Caucasian; long-haired, head-banging grunge aficionado, who's done a few too many whip-its; must be able to play guitar a la Nirvana cover band.
BEAT BARN MC (mid 30s) Aging Williamsburg hipster type and wanna be stand up comedian.
BIKER (late 40s), Caucasian; Hell's Angels meets Jeff, the comic book guy from the Simpsons; beer belly, beard, pony-tail, and tie-dyed Grateful Dead shirt a plus.

THE PLANT THAT ATE THE DIRTY SOCKS
AT THE LUCILLE LORTEL THEATRE

ROLES:
DAD (Male in his late 30s/early 40s). Pop rock voice. Dad is the Ultimate Suburban Father, no two ways about it. Perfect in every way. He loves his golf and he loves his family and he’s always got his trusty briefcase by his side. Dad also doubles as THE SCIENCE FAIR JUDGE. The Judge takes his job very seriously and delights in the misery of young children, who are really all just such a horrifying bore, anyway.

JASON (Male in his early 20s ) Pop/rock voice. JASON is the popular kid in school. Smarmy and flirty, he’s never without his Letterman jacket or his 'I am SO much better than you' attitude. Jason also doubles as McKENZIE ACTION PHILLIPS SLOAN, a slimy and wacky reporter for The Weird Nation Television Hour. African-American, Latino, or Asian.

FEMALE UNDERSTUDY (Female in her early 20s) Pop Soprano voice. Understudy for PATTY is the devil in a pink cheerleading uniform. Her pigtails and bubbly demeanor are meant to distract you from the fact that she is a vicious bulldog of a young girl- snoopy, conniving, and, well, just sorta generally evil. Also plays MOM who has a million things going on at all time. She holds everything together but when she falls, she falls hard. Together and in-control one minute and falling apart at the seams the next. Even at her most 'Ultimate Suburban Mother' there is something a little off about her. Should have puppeteering experience.

MALE UNDERSTUDY (Male in his early 20s) Strong Pop/Rock voice & must be able to hit a G. To understudy JASON (listed above), MICHAEL is twelve and he’s super-stoked about all the cool things that are gonna happen this year! Hes a funny, sloppy, junk-collecting dude whose desire to win the science fair is matched only by the size of his big, fat, heart! NORMAN is nine and he is neat. Very, very, neat. He is bothered by messes almost as much as he’s bothered that his brother doesnt seem to pay attention to him anymore. Hes just looking for a friend to accept him for what he is - a quirky and lovable nerd. Also understudies DAD (listed above). Should have puppeteering experience.

ALL ACTORS WILL BE SIGNED ON AS ASSISTANT STAGE MANAGERS and will be required, as such, to lift scenery and sound equipment during daily load-in and load outs (up to 60 lbs). Ethnic Actors welcome. This is a not a tour.

ALL CHARACTERS MUST SING & DANCE. All characters must have pop/rock voices.

I'm a student at NYU and I'm currently enrolled in a Directing the Actor class. This Friday the 18th I need two actors to perform a scene about a brother and a sister who confront each other about the horrors of the brother's violent decision in murdering their whole family. This sister should be between her 20's and 30s and the brother in his late teens early 20's

Since it is a student project there is no pay, but it is a great experience for actors to get practice, meet new directors, and have fun!

The Ten Minute Goodbye is the current title for a 10-minute COMEDIC student short in which Protagonist LINDA LEWIS (age 35-50) and her husband TOM LEWIS (similarly aged) become irritated by the invasive comments of an overbearing friend, GAIL MILLER (similarly aged).
