Looking for one man for a staged reading of "A HUMAN SHIELD" by Robert L. Kinast,
winner of the 2007 New Works of Merit Playwriting Contest. Directed by Robert Marra.
Reading will be on Sunday, April 20th at the 13th Street Theatre, with approximately 2
rehearsals. No pay. AEA and Non-union may submit.
Synopsis:
As the Grant family comes together for their traditional New Year's Eve celebration, their
ongoing political differences escalate. With news of Dad's possible run for Congress, one
daughter's announcement of her deployment to North Korea, and her twin sister's news
that she too is going to Korea to be part of a human shield hoping to prevent an invasion,
the family struggles to remain supportive and loving while still holding true to their
personal views

I would like to post a notice for a Stage Manager for my upcoming play, '
Chance ', to be performed 5/14, 5/15, 5/16 and possibly 5/17 and 5/18 as part of
the New York Amazing Play Festival, at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre. It
is a non union, non paying job, but a great opportunity to work with a

Good morning Jagger,
Thanks for holding the event. Okay I admit I was tentative about the
whole thing after a previous experience with another "agency". But
this was a very different experience. The other thing I thought was
valuable was that it was a LIMITED number of people in the group.
Unlike others who try to jam as many people into the seminars as they
possibly can. Nobody wins in those situations. Everything is too
rushed and the actors and Casting Directors feel like they are forced
into an assembly line situation. Which was part of the reason I was
tentative in the first place to attend this...however, after last
night didn't feel like that at all...and everyone was very relaxed and
happy because of it.Your assistants were terrific too, they were on
the ball with keeping everyone ready to go and answering questions.

Seeking SAG (Screen Actors Guild) and NON SAG actors to portray 1950s Americans in Paris for the film Julie and Julia. Scenes will be with Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci. You must be willing to work around smoke and some will be asked to smoke and be comfortable having your hair cut to fit the 1950s. You must also have natural colored hair and NO high lights. If so you must be willing to dye your hair to a natural color. If you are a woman your hair should be above your shoulder or shorter. If not you MUST be comfortable having you hair cut by Productions hair stylist. Men should have clean cut hair but not too short and NO buzz cuts. There is also a height requirement. Men can be no taller than 5'10" and woman no taller than 5'6". We are also seeking actors with French Poodles. This is an NYU student film, we have a highly experienced crew. We all work very efficiently and playfully. It should be a fun set.
A film revolving around three stories: two detectives trying to catch a group of serial robbers while trying to work out their differences. A story of a boy, Zach, just released from jail who tries to get his life back together while trying to shake his troubled past. And finally, the story of a single mother struggling to raise her blind child while she tries to live her own life.

In a town already reeling from the suicides of five young athletes, the media descends in an effort to find the 'truth'. This theatrical piece is based on actual events. Acting For Beginners (3 weeks):
A course on how to begin as an actor. We will discuss the business of being an actor, Work on scripts. Prepare you to audition & most of all have FUN.
The course:
Week #1: The business of acting for a beginner & how to have fun within it.
An overview of marketing, presentation & an improvisation
Week #2: The script.
How to look at a script cold and make choices that are strong.
Week #3: Prepared copy.
How to take direction & adjust your choices within context.
