NYU SHORT SEEKS FEMALE ACTRESS, 30+ AND/OR VOICE ACTRESS

Posted by: "stephanieborgs" stephanieborgs@yahoo.com   stephanieborgs

Fri Apr 11, 2008 2:50 pm (PDT)

I am an NYU student shooting a short film. I am looking for interesting and expressive faces,
30+, any race, any physique. Ability to cry on screen a major plus.

The project involves a woman recalling getting raped.

There is voice over and thus a lot of demanding voice acting so I am either also looking to
cast the on screen and voice roles separately or to find one actress who can do both.

I can't pay but you'll receive a copy and credit.

Please email me your headshot, resume, and any work samples (particularly if you're a voice
actor) to stephanieborgs@gmail.com

We are shooting April 17th, time is flexible. The voice-over will be recorded sometime during
the following week.

Mouth To Mouth Equity Principal Auditions

The New Group ANTC Currently $423/week minimum; may change before first rehearsal.

1st rehearsal: September 22, 2008. Runs October 20 - November 6.

Story about a terminally ill writer and his friends exposes the outrageous and often hilarious ways people can disregard the suffering of others. The play unfolds to reveal deep betrayals within a bourgeois family, as an overprotective mother confronts her young son, who has just returned home from traveling abroad and having his first sexual experience.

Seeking:
Frank: Mid 40s. Disappointed, lonely gay playwright suffering from a terminal illness (probably AIDS). Apparently gentle and retiring, but full of buried yearning and tentative ambition. Everyones confidant. More comfortable fading into the wallpaper.

Laura: Mid 40s. Franks close friend. Opinionated, hyperactive and frustrated housewife. Maternal, and overly protective and possessive of her son Phillip. But also still sexual and vulnerable beneath the veneer.

Gompertz: Mid 30s. Franks doctor and friend, also gay. Catty, loves a party. Avid drinker and cocaine user. Rather a mess, partly from the loss of his partner.

Dennis: Mid 40s. Married to Laura. A dentist, and a family man. He is staid and outwardly content, but he is at odds with his wife and feels permanently out-of-place.

Phillip: Age 15. Frank and Lauras son. A nice kid, but actually knowing and subtly rebellious. Brilliant at knowing how to please adults.

Roger: Early - mid 30s. Denniss youngest brother. Wine dealer who enjoys a drink. Confident, dismissive and apt to dominate any conversation.

Cornelia: Late 20s. Married to Roger. Interior designer with academic ambitions. Somewhat nave and unworldly, though passionately interested in people and things around her.

Coward-esque comedy about how class distorts our most intimate relationships. Its Oscar night 1996, and Mathew has enlisted his best friend Vincent, a struggling writer, to help entertain his super-rich new boyfriend Luke. Vincent thinks his ailing friends perfect boyfriend is literally too good to be true. But what if Luke is not only Matthews last chance for love, but also his best chance for survival?

Seeking:
Vincent: Late 20s - early 30s. Gay playwright from Savannah, GA. Always an outsider. Given to rants, but can be charming and bitingly funny. Also high-strung, demanding, jealous and needy. Very attached to Matthew.

Matthew: Late 20s - early 30s. Up-and-coming film executive. Quite sick with AIDS, but fully functional. Warm, aims to please a real host and a real friend. Also attached to Vincent, and in love with Luke. Insecure about relationships.

Luke: Late 20s - early 30s. From a ton of money, and now a professional rich person. Handsome and put-together, and unfailingly polite and sensible. A bit distant and detached. Almost too perfect. Dating Matthew, and very considerate of him.
