Big Love will run April 24th through May 22nd, Thursdays through Sundays.

NOW AUDITIONING!*

*Big Love* is a play by American playwright Charles Mee. Based on
Aeschylus's* The Supplicants*, it is about fifty brides who flee to a manor
in Italy to avoid marrying their fifty cousins. The play takes the plot of
the original Greek play into modern times, including such details as having
the grooms ambush the brides by helicopter. While the brides and grooms wait
for their wedding day, the characters raise issues of gender politics, love,
and domestic violence. Hilarious, with a large amount of stage combat, this
brilliant play shows us that the theatre of today is incredibly alive and
healthy!

Initial Audition: March 15th from 10am to 5:30pm. Appointment required.
Callbacks: March 16th from 10am to Noon and 5:30pm to 10pm.

Callbacks will consist of cold readings and some singing. Sides are not

*Character Breakdown:*
Thyona: Bride. Very much a feminist to the point of stereotype. (Female,
18-35)

Olympia: Bride. Polar opposite of Thyona. A beauty-obsessed woman who only
wants a man to take care of her. (Female, 18-35)

Lydia: Bride. The middle ground or consience between the other sisters.
(Female, 18-35)

Constantine: Groom. The ultimate misogynist. (Male 18-40)

Oed: Groom. Not very bright. Muscular. (Male 18-40)

Nikos: Groom, longs for a real connection with his bride. (Male 18-40)

Piero: Wealthy owner of the Italian manor providing sanctuary to the brides.
(Male, 40-65)

Bella: Older woman, mother of Piero and Giuliano. Has thirteen sons.
(Female, 40-70)

Giuliano: Gay grandson of Bella. Loves weddings. (Male 18-30)

Leo: Wedding guest who provides hope and comic relief. (Male, 25-50)

Eleanor: Wedding guest who provides hope and comic relief. (Female 25-50)

Fight participants and wedding guests: Roles needed requiring little
rehearsal time. Stellar physical comedy moments. Solid background in stage
fighting required. (Varies)

Bremerton Symphony Association announces auditions for

Marriage of Figaro

The Bremerton Symphony Association, under the leadership of Elizabeth Stoyanovich, Music Director, and Kitsap Opera are pleased to announce vocal auditions for the November 2008 production of Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro.

The solo parts include: Count Almaviva, Countese Rosina, Figaro, Suzana, , Cherubino, Marcellina, Basilioteno, Don Curzio, Antonio and Barbarina.

The audition will take place on March 22, 2008 from 11:00 AM- 4:00 PM at Olympic College in Bremerton, WA. Please prepare an aria and bring support materials. An accompanist will be provided. Auditions will be performed for Leone Cottrell Kitsap Opera Artistic Director and LeeAnne Campos BSA Concert Chorale Director.

In search of great Director of Photography (Kirkland/Seattle)

Upcoming documentary project is in search of a great Director of Photography. Exciting opportunity to work with View Askew Production and producers Kevin Smith from Clerks and Matt Stone from South Park.

Bring your creativity and energy to set. Apply only if you are sure you have no other projects for the duration of this project. Flexibility is preferred as there will be many shoots that pop up at last minute. Most filming is done in Kirkland (east side) area.

Reality TV and/or Documentary experience a must.

Experience with HD camera. Must have basic experience with sound as well. Owning gear and an HD camera is preferable. A small stipend for equipment will be paid.
