"Image Mind Light" a 10 minute independent short film to shoot April 18th through the 22nd in Seattle.
The IMAGE of a beautiful dead woman triggers three distinct thoughts in the MIND of a stray dog, man and priest. While her daughter, or is she?, has a secret and a question: "What is the LIGHT by which man is served?"
We have built a wonderful Team of passionate, professional filmmakers and will be shooting with the new Red One Camera. The look we are going for something like "City Of Lost Children" and "Blade Runner" as well the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale, "The Little Match Girl." We would like to tell a great story with a very high production value.
We are looking for a Sound Recordist with their own equipment to get involved ASAP. You must be available for all of the above dates. Please submit your resume, daily rate, and equipment list. If you have any of your work online, please send the link to us as well.
Please, read the script before you reply at www.imlcinema.com/slate/ IML.pdf
You can also visit us at http://www.myspace.com/imagemindlig or http://www.imlcinemht a.com to find out more about us, the film, and watch the director's previous work.

Short Synopsis: `Ruby´ is the story of Ruby, a 21 year old college
student, who is searching for a quote for her campaign speech to become student
body president. Searching for quote, Ruby causes a large amount of books to
fall on Janet, a library worker, who consequently dies. There are no witnesses
and Ruby gets away with her crime. Ruby continues her quest to find the ideal
quote, but images of the crime haunt her. During the live broadcast of her
speech, Ruby´s intense guilt leads her to a tearful confession. However, due to
an audio problem nobody hears the confession; they merely see her silent
passionate gestures. Ruby wins the election because of this speech, only to
have her guilt hanging over her indefinitely. `Ruby´ is a dark, offbeat black
comedy.
Submission Instructions: Open to all demographics, unless otherwise
specified. Please submit by phone, e-mail, or fax. Thank you.
[RUBY WALTERS] [GENDER:
FEMALE] [AGE:18-26]
Ruby is a 21 year old college
student who is running for student body president of her university. She is a
highly driven individual, who desires to make a career for herself in politics.
While she considers herself to be a person of high moral character, she is very
willing to bend the rules or tread on people to get what she wants. Ruby´s
aggressive ambition however, is cloaked under a façade of shy respectability.
Outwardly she comes across as a coy, passive character that many of her fellow
students underestimate. Ruby is astute enough to understand that playing an
unassertive role puts people at ease, and her non-threatening manner will lull
people into a false sense of security.
[JANET] [GENDER:
FEMALE} [AGE:
40+] Janet has worked in the university library where `Ruby´ takes place
for over twenty years. She takes her job seriously and is adamant that the
students follow a set of strict guidelines in the library. A university
graduate herself, Janet feels a certain amount of animosity toward modern
students, whom she feels do not have the same strong work ethic that she had
when she was a student. Janet is almost always seen pushing around a library cart;
her movements are stiff and jerky, as if she is uncomfortable in her own skin.
[MARTA] [GENDER:
FEMALE] [AGE:
18-26]
Marta is part of the University
committee that organizes the elections. Despite her active involvement with the
committee, Marta is cynical of the process, considering it a waste of time
other than as something to add to her resume. Marta looks down on Ruby, whom
she considers to be foolish in taking the election process so seriously.
Marta´s physical movements are confident and overbearing. She strides around
the university campus with her head held high, and is not afraid of making eye
contact or using imposing gestures when in conversation.
[PROF. ALDRIDGE] [GENDER:
FEMALE] [AGE:
40+] Professor Aldridge is a Gender Studies professor at Ruby´s university.
While Aldridge has had a number of successful books published, she is a
disorganized and forgetful individual. A child of the 60s sexual revolution,
Aldridge has never quite let go of her hippy roots. She is often prone to
voicing her abstract trains of thought in conversation.
[MAX] [GENDER:
MALE] [AGE:18-26]
Max is an IT geek. He´s
desperately in love with Marta, constantly following her around, trying to win
her affection.

seeking elderly male for short video
Posted by: "Michael R." marz62@yahoo.com
Mon Mar 3, 2008 12:33 pm (PST)
I am looking for a Caucasian male who is, or looks, in
his 60's + age range. This is a unique,
'fictionalized' mini bio doc. for an upcoming, high
profile exhibition/celebration in California this
coming April.
The scene is scripted and very short--consisting of a
'mock' interview of a person who worked with the main
subject of the video--and should only take an hour of
your time.
The scene is meant to be humorous but touching. If you
have a kind of 'nerdy' look and/or wear/have eye
glasses, so much the better.
The shoot will be in the evening, most likely, and
will be in Seattle (I prefer that you are local,
but...).
provided: Gas or bus fare reimbursement, food, credit
on film, and copy of the final cut.
For more details and to set up an interview, please
send a head shot, or recent, clear photo, and brief
acting resume, to <marz62@yahoo.com >

Audition notice for Private Eyes - posting for Sky Performing Arts
Posted by: "Alexandra" AlexAvon@verizon.net
Mon Mar 3, 2008 11:32 pm (PST)
Sky Performing Arts will be holding auditions for
Private Eyes by Steven Dietz, directed by Eric Lewis
March 16th, 7-10 pm at
Sky Valley Education Center at 17072 Tye St. in Monroe
Performance dates: May 9th, 10th, 11th, 6th, 17th, 18th in Monroe and May
30th, 31st, & June 1st in Everett at The Historic Everett Theatre (dark the
weekend in between for the holiday and to move the set.)
PRIVATE EYES is a dark comedy of suspicion in which nothing is ever quite
what it seems. Matthew's wife, Lisa, is having an affair with Adrian, a
British theatre director. Or perhaps the affair is part of the play being
rehearsed. Or perhaps Matthew has imagined all of it simply to have
something to report to Frank, his therapist. And, finally, there is Cory-the
mysterious woman who seems to shadow the others-who brings the story to its
surprising conclusion. Or does she? The audience itself plays the role of
detective in this hilarious "relationship thriller" about love, lust and the
power of deception. Rehearsals and first two weekends will be at this same
location. Rehearsals begin the week immediately following the auditions.
For more information please email the director Eric Lewis at
havocat@comcast.net
Characters:
Lisa Foster, 25+ An actress, caught between her husband and her lover. A
strong woman but confused.
Mathew Foster 25+ An actor, who is seeking both revenge and reconciliation
with Lisa. Passive aggressive type. Fueled by frustration and suspicion.
Adrian 30+ , The director. In 'love' with Lisa. He is directing the play
that Mathew and Lisa are acting in. Peter O'Toole type.
Cory 25+ Connected to Adrian.. Obsessed with tracking him down and causing
havoc and chaos. A chameleon; a waitress, a private detective and possible
actress.
Frank 30+ Either male or female. Mathew's therapist. He/she is willing to
push Mathew to the truth.
Auditions will consist of readings from the script. The page numbers refer
