Sunday auditions for thug character and teenage/young adult role

Posted by: "FilmmakersNW@aol.com" FilmmakersNW@aol.com

Tue Feb 19, 2008 9:18 am (PST)

Two corrections/additions to our previous notice:

1) We posted an audition notice for the science fiction movie "Liberation"
yesterday but inadvertantly left out one character: a thug named WEASEL, a
physical action role. Actor should be tough-looking. Any race. Written as a
male role but could be played by either a man or woman, but whoever plays the
role must have an imposing physical presence. Beats up the hero a couple of
times, helps torture the hero's buddy, then dies in a gunfight. Actor must
be available the full day on June 21, 22, 28 and 29.

2) Part of this character's information was incomplete: BILLY RYAN (male)
(white) (teenager or young adult - should look young - character is male,
young, very strange) (he's a clone, has never been around normal people)
Billy's scenes will be filmed on Friday June 20

For more information about the movie, go to:
http://www.wonderproductions.info

To schedule an audition please reply to:
Seattleworkshops@aol.com
Please include your name and phone number.

(The audition is on Sunday February 24th, in the University District in
Seattle. You will be scheduled for either 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m. or 4 p.m. Your
audition will last up to an hour. If any of these time slots does NOT work,
please mention it when you contact us for an audition. Otherwise, we'll put
you in whichever time slot is open. )

Casting call for, "recycle," Thesis film for Digital Arts Degree at

Posted by: "Collin Monda" cmm8@u.washington.edu

Tue Feb 19, 2008 12:33 pm (PST)

Hello,
I am looking to cast for numerous roles for my Digital Experimental
Arts Thesis film. I'm a 5th year student at UW my name is Collin
Monda, below are links to my site and my demoreel. Its a yearlong
thesis project I've been writing since September and am polishing it
off now. I would love to cast some talented actors who need some
resume experience but also those who have worked already and can show
me a portfolio. Theatre and Screen actors all welcome, while this is
not a paid gig I would like to say that compensation in other forms is
possible, and certainly a copy of the finished film will be provided
to all who participate. Also know that this is an academic production
that is to be screened at the end of the year in BFA show, because of
this promotion is guaranteed in that respect and will allow actors an
ability to network with an emergent digital artist network in Seattle.
Production will take place in Seattle's various neighborhoods, I'm
working on firming a location in Fremont.

Brief Synopsis:
A paper recycling worker fresh of out college moves into an apartment
building that doesn't have a recycling pickup. He collects paper from
all the residents, its a small 5 unit building, and gets to know most
of them this way. There is one girl in the building he has barely
gotten an in-obscured glance at who leaves most intriguing illustrated
recyclings that enchant him and eventually fuel a hallucinogenic,
paper, stop-motion animated, obsession with her.

Thematically its about the frailty of humans having personal identity
crises.
The film also capitalizes on the fact that the apartment is supposed
to be a place of community yet everyone is alone. Because the land
lady doesn't allow many to bring their significant others up to their
rooms or in the building they are not friendly with her and vice-a-
versa. Together but alone.

ROLES:

*Note that Ages listed for characters is the range for what they will
appear to be, the talents don't necessarily have to meet that criteria
themselves.

Main: 23-25 years of age, male, innocent type, not overbearing,
liberal, slightly hippy natured in that he works for a recycling
center. Charming mostly.

Mary: 50-75 years of age, female, eccentric, quirky, overdone fashion.

Darrel: 25-35 years of age, Male, Scrawny, Scruffy, Southern drawl.
Not overly unattractive but not attractive.

Nina: 20-24 years of age, female, innocent, indie, quirky, different
looking, yet very attractive. A look you can really hold on to and
distinguish.

Nina's boyfriend: 25-29 years of age, male, thick comparatively,
charming, well-spoken, nice guy, unhatable.

Maurice: 65+ retired. Male, Cleanly, well-mannered, non-scenile,
scholarly, well-dressed.

Boss: 40-50 years of age, Male, chronologically obsessive.
Idiosyncratic yet in sync with some kind of clock, twitchy yet constant.

Darrel's Girls: 2 of them. 23-30 years of age, Female, slutty,
unintelligent, bar tricks.

Please see my academic website for experiments and documentation of
the project in its current state of fruition.

Casting Call for dirty girl productions

Posted by: "dirty girl productions" wildseed206@gmail.com   beaverknieval

Hi,
Can you please post this audition notice for any potential African-American actresses? Thanks so much!
Jude

dirty girl productions

dirty girl productions is a brand new company that is founded and operated by African American women. We decided to put together an all black girl punk rock band and then stage the life of the band as a theatrical piece. Below is what we are looking for.
We are looking for 1 black actress that MUST be able to play or be WILLING to learn the guitar and act. This being a punk rock band you need not be a maestro! We are looking to fill the role of Jordan.
The concept is to create a band, perform actual gigs and present a "play" about the band. Although dirty girl productions will determine the basic concept of the story, it will evolve with each character and the band's own experience.
Improv and Acting Skills a Must!
Participating artists need to have some basic knowledge about punk rock - i.e. Bad Brains, Ramones, Sex Pistols, the Clash, etc.
AUDITIONS will be held Thursday, 21 February at 6pm-8pm in W. Seattle.
Please be prepared to improv scenes and play/bang on the guitar.
For more information, and to audition, please email Jude at dirty girl productions at wildseed206@gmail.com. Please send headshot and resume to wildseed206@gmail.com. (not required)
This project is funded by the Seattle Office of Arts & Cultural Affairs smART ventures Program. This program is supported by the Shunpike.
