Actor double needed for Friday evening
Posted by: "Nils Osmar" nilsosmar@gmail.com nilsosmar
Tue Feb 12, 2008 2:55 pm (PST)
Seattle WA
We are filming a short movie this Friday evening (as a demo project in a
film class) and need a body double "stand in" for an actor in some shots.
(The movie is about a guy and his clone, and is being filmed with one actor
playing both parts; we need a body double for some shots where the two
figures overlap.) You would need to be there from 7 p.m. till possibly as
late as 10 p.m.
The actor you would be standing in for is a white male, 5 foot 5 inches
tall, and has a lean/medium build. He has a 29" waist and 29" inseam. The
stand-in should be a white male of similar height/proportions. No pay, but,
screen credit and snacks provided.
The movie is being filmed in a class, but is not "just for fun", it's a
legitimate indy film and will go up on Youtube and be submitted to "short
film" fests when it's finished. (For more info about the class we are
filming this movie in, go to http://www.classesandworkshops. and click oncom
Filmmaking 101.)
If you fit these specs and would like to have some fun and be in a movie,
please email Nilsosmar@gmail.com Please include your height/weight
information, etc. in your email. You don't need to audition but we would
like to meet with you if possible before Friday to talk for a few minutes
and work out some details.

The American Pilot at Theater Schmeater
Posted by: "David Gassner" david.gassner@gmail.com dbg583
Tue Feb 12, 2008 7:08 pm (PST)
Theater Schmeater will hold open non-Equity auditions for the West
Coast Premiere of The American Pilot, by David Greig. The production
will be directed by Theater Schmeater Artistic Director David Gassner.
Open call auditions will be held:
Saturday, February 23, 1pm 5pm
Monday, February 25, 7pm - 10pm
All auditions will be held at Theater Schmeater, 1500 Summit Ave, Seattle.
The play: The American Pilot opened in Stratford-upon-Avon at the
Royal Shakespeare Company in 2005, and had its US premiere at
Manhattan Theater Club in 2006. This is the play's West Coast
premiere.
The story: In David Greig's poetic drama, an American pilot has
crash-landed in a distant country rent by civil war. Since the
country's government is supported by the U.S. government and the pilot
has landed in rural, rebel territory, he represents both a temptation
and an opportunity. The play tells the villagers' story as they decide
what to do with him.
The American Pilot requires a cast of mixed ethnicities. Actors of all
colors and backgrounds are encouraged to audition. Audition
appointments are required, and will include readings from the play.
Sides are available on Theater Schmeater's website at
http://www.schmeater.org/auditions. If you are auditioning at thehtm.

(Tuesday-Thursday), you do not need to attend this open call. Just
email David Gassner (david.gassner@gmail.com ) and let us know of your
interest in this production.

is April 19-20, and the Performances are Thursday, Friday & Saturday

All roles are open and available to any ethnicity. They include:
The Pilot - an American fighter pilot. Badly injured, he thinks of his
family and hopes for rescue.
The Farmer late 30's-40's. He found the Pilot and wants to do
right. But first his family must be fed.
The Trader - 30's - 50's. He sees the Pilot as an opportunity for
profit, and also the cause of extra work.
Sarah: late 30's - 40's. She is a woman of great faith, married to the
Farmer. She does her duty, including caring for the Pilot.
Evie: 16. She is the daughter of the Farmer, and has visions of God's
mission for her. To her, the Pilot is a gift from heaven.
The Captain - 40's - 50's. He has fought for many years, and the Pilot
is either a gift or a curse.
The Translator: 20's - early 30's. He has studied in the United States
and is disillusioned with the West. He wants the Pilot to pay for the
evil he's seen.
