Redwood Theatre - Auditions for Chess-The Musical

All actors and crew at Redwood Theatre work on a volunteer basis.
There will be one Cast & Crew Benefit Fund performance.

Redwood Theatre is holding auditions for Chess-The Musical, by Björn
Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson (music), Tim Rice (lyrics), and Richard
Nelson (book)
Directed by Roy Arauz, Music Direction by Rachel Rene

Audition dates: Monday, February 11 and Tuesday, February 12, 7-10 at TPS

Call-backs: Wednesday, February 13, 7-10 at TPS

Read-through Mar 3, 2008
Rehearsals begin March 16
Performance Dates: April 25 - May 10 at the Fred W. Meitzer Theatre, Redmond, WA

Audition requirements:
You have four minutes for you audition. Please prepare:
One-minute monologue
30-35 measures from a rock musical song that shows your range. A song
from "Chess" is encouraged, but not required.

Open roles:
Anatoly (Russian)–Baritone (to G sharp)
Freddie (American)–Rock Tenor (to C)
Florence–Strong belt voice (to E)
Svetlana–Strong belt voice or a legit alto/second soprano
Molokov–Bass (down to F sharp)
Walter–Bass Baritone (will consider casting this role as a female)
Ensemble - casting 4 to 8 men and women with strong voices.

Dance Audition for "Excerpts from the Soul of a Woman"

MALE AND FEMALE DANCERS WANTED!!!!

WHEN: SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 10TH, 2-5:00PM

WHERE:

Rainer Ballet Academy - Hillcrest Square
7545 NE 4th St, Suite S-3

Renton, WA 98056

Looking for Male and Female dancers to perform in upcoming shows and
community events. Dancers should be well versed in modern and ballet
techniques. Jazz and Ethnic dance forms are also desired. Rehearsals will
begin soon to prepare for performances.

(Availability for late morning and/or weekend rehearsals in Seattle is
desired.)

Dancers will be paid a stipend.

Please bring headshot, resume, and calendars to the audition.

Vania C. Bynum dances & choreographs throughout the Greater Seattle area,
and has worked with distinguished choreographers such as Donald Byrd, Sonia
Dawkins, Kari Lee Florentine, Wade Madsen, Duane George, & Deborah Wolf. A
graduate of Cornish College of the Arts, Vania has performed Modern, Jazz,
Salsa, Swing, Hip Hop, Afro-Caribbean, and Liturgical dance. Venues include
the Paramount & Moore Theaters, Intiman, Benaroya Hall, Meydenbauer Center,
Seattle Center, the Renton Ikea Performing Arts Center, and local churches.

This production is funded in part by 4Culture, Bossak Heilbron, and CD Forum
of Seattle
